Hi. I'm Mof Gimmers. I write words for a living. I've done radio and TV too.
I'm a writer and that's a very old picture of me. I'm the one on the left if you need telling.
I'm the editor of Bitterwallet ("the best source for consumer hacks, tips and news from the trenches of the UK community") and contribute to The Quietus.
As a freelance, I've had work in Mojo, The Guardian Guide, Gizmodo, The Daily Mail, Hecklerspray (I was editor there), BBC Good Food Guide, Total Film, t3, TV Scoop (editor there too), the Green Man Festival programme and fanzines, and loads of Shiny Media websites over the years. I've also done PR work for ITV and a bunch of other stuff.
I've also been lucky enough to feature in some 'thanks' bits of some LPs.
I've also featured on the television, conducting interviews for Sky Arts show, From The Basement, where I interviewed some very famous people, including, as the picture above testifies, Iggy Pop. I've also done various radio spots as a TV writer for the BBC and some Manchester radio stations.
Here are some recommendations from other people
“Mof is one of those rare freelancers who's able to whip out copy in next to no time, tailored perfectly to what you want. Quite often he knows what you're after more than you know yourself, and is able to flex his writing styles to give you any tone or voice most suitable. I highly recommend him for any writing job that needs doing.” Kat Hannaford, Gizmodo editor
“Mof Gimmers, to this date, is one of the best and most prolific writers Hecklerspray has ever seen. His work is intelligent, thought-provoking and, most of all, funny. He also has an almost illegally good taste in music.” Stuart Heritage, Guardian
“Whilst writing for Shiny Media, I read Mof's work on a variety of the Shiny sites regularly, and the stuff he wrote regularly made me laugh. I think that's about the highest endorsement you can give a writer. Also, he's a thoroughly nice chap.” Susi Weaser, Former Editor at Shiny Media
